For the countries with considerable mining and O&G upstream sectors, proper elaboration of a simple and transparent tax and rent collection and distribution framework may result in significant benefits, while flaws open doors for violations and misconducts. As Ukraine aspires to reform its mining sector pursuing energy independence and tackling established corruption schemes, ensuring transparent and understandible redistribution of subsoil use revenues underpins increase of production and social benefits. Management and distribution of such revenues differ significantly for the national level and within local communities of resource rich regions. Thus, the worshop's scope focuses on the specific policy designs, fiscal tools and safeguards for securing transparency and accountability of all parties.
