TRANSPARENCY IN WHOLESALE ENERGY MARKETS – PART 1

In cooperation with the Energy Community Regulatory School and the Energy Community Secretariat.

October 8, 2018  | InterContinental Kyiv, 2A Velyka Zhytomyrska Street, Kyiv

OVERVIEW

EU energy laws and policies envisage a sophisticated system of obligations and rules for making data accessible with regard functioning of the wholesale gas and electricity markets. This framework has been under developement for decades, and yet, taking into account Ukraine's intention to become part of the EU energy markets' architecture, its energy markets' participants and regulatory authorities will soon face the necessity to be obliged by these rules, whether they know them well or not.

Come to the Day 1 of the Energy Transparency Week to find answers to the following hot questions:

  • What are the key requirements on transparency under Electricity Regulation 714/2009, Gas Regulation 715/20019 and Electricity Transparency Regulation 543/2013?
  • Which instruments are in place to achieve the intended transparency level and how is this responsibility shared among market participants?
  • What is the practice of these Regulations implementation among the EU Member States and which model the Energy Community Secretariat suggests for Ukraine to follow?
  • How the ENTSOG та ENTSOE data transparency platforms are functioning?
  • How to utilize the data disclosed upon the EU energy markets for fundamental and business analysis?
